Common booking questions

Do I need to know which comedian I want?

No — that is one of the main reasons to use Comedy Exchange. Tell us about the event and we can recommend an appropriate performer or line-up. See how individual bookings work.

Can you supply a complete line-up?

Yes. A complete comedy night may include an experienced MC and multiple professional comedians, with the exact format shaped around the event. Explore complete comedy nights.

Can you help with a regular comedy night?
Yes. A venue considering recurring nights can share its room, likely audience, location, budget and plans. The frequency and format would be discussed rather than assumed.
Can I request a specific comedian?
Yes. If you have somebody in mind, include them in the enquiry. Specific performers are always subject to availability, event fit and agreed terms, and we may suggest alternatives that fit the brief.
Can you book household-name comedians?
Yes, depending on the event, budget, date and availability. Our network spans rising and established circuit performers through to household names. If you have somebody specific in mind, include them in the enquiry.
What kind of budget do I need?
We work with entertainment budgets from around £500 to £50,000. The right level depends on the event, location, date and the type of performer or line-up you need. If you are not sure what budget is realistic, send us the basics and we can discuss the options.
What should I do if my date or budget is not final?
Say so. A date range, an approximate budget, “not sure” or a request for advice can all form part of the initial brief.
Can you help match the comedy to our audience?
Yes. Describe who will be in the room, the occasion, intended tone and any relevant preferences or sensitivities. These details help guide the recommendation.
Can you supply an MC or host?

Yes. An experienced comedy MC can engage the room, introduce performers and keep agreed parts of the event moving. Read about comedy MCs and hosts.

Can I hire a comedian for a private party?

Yes, where the occasion, room and budget can support a professional booking. Hire a comedian for a private event.

Where do you work?
Across the UK. Location is simply part of the brief when we work out which performers and format make sense. You do not need to limit the search to comedians based in your immediate area.
Do you handle ticketing?
Ticketing is not automatically included, but if your event is ticketed we can discuss suitable places to list it, including ticketing partners we work with.
Can comedy form part of our fundraiser?

Yes. Comedy Exchange can supply professional entertainment within a fundraising event, while you remain in control of the wider fundraiser. No fundraising return is guaranteed. Explore comedy fundraisers.

When is a booking confirmed?
Once the details are agreed and the signed agreement is in place. Sending a website enquiry does not reserve a performer or create a booking.
